ABOUT US

 

Krishi Vigyan Kendra was established under the aegis of Indian Council of Agricultural Research on 16th June,1993 at Mahanandi in the revenue division of Nandyal, Kurnool district. Later, it was shifted to Utukur village of Kadapa division in Kadapa district on 1st April, 2005. It is functioning under the administrative control of Acharya N.G.Ranga Agricultural University, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.

            

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi finances totally to the centre through ANGRAU. It is located in the Kadapa- Rayachoty highway, 3 km away from Kadapa limits. KVK is about 6 km away from Kadapa railway station and 5 km away from RTC bus station. It has access from the old bus depo of Kadapa through the buses traveling to near-by villages and also service autos.

 

 

OUR MANDATE

 

¨ To collaborate with the subject matter specialists of the SAultural Universities/ Scientists of the Regional Research Station (NARP and the State Extension Personnel) in “on-farm” testing, refining and documenting technologies for developing region-specific sustainable land use systems.

¨ To organize long-term vocational training courses in agriculture and allied vocations for the rural youths with emphasis on “learning by doing” for generating self-employment through institutional financing.

¨ To organize front-line demonstrations in various crops to generate production data and feedback information.

¨ To organize training to update the extension personnel within the area of operation with emerging advances in agricultural research on regular basis.
